Why stores leave WooCommerce
Less upkeep, more selling.
No more plugin updates
WordPress, WooCommerce and every plugin need updating, and one update can break checkout. Shopify updates itself.
Hosting and security handled
No server to patch, no hosting bill that grows with traffic, and no security plugins. Shopify hosts and secures the store.
A checkout built to sell
Shopify's checkout and Shop Pay are quick on phones, and Shopify keeps them up to date for you.
Simpler to run
Orders, stock, discounts and shipping in one admin that's easy for your team to learn.

Before you switch
What happens to the WordPress side.
WooCommerce runs inside WordPress, so most stores also have a blog, landing pages and plugins that aren't about selling. We go through them with you before we quote.
- Blog posts move to Shopify's blog, with their images
- Contact forms, pop-ups and reviews replaced by Shopify apps or theme features
- Subscriptions and memberships planned separately, as they need a Shopify app
- Your domain moves to Shopify; your email stays where it is

Every old WooCommerce address points to its new Shopify page, so links, bookmarks and Google results keep working.

Questions
Before you get in touch.
Something else? Email hello@thecodewhiz.com.
- Can my customers keep their passwords?
- No. WooCommerce passwords are encrypted and can't be moved to any other platform. After switch-over, customers get an email inviting them to set a new password, and their account details are waiting for them.
- Do I lose my WordPress blog?
- No. Posts move to Shopify's blog with their images, page titles and descriptions, and each old post address redirects to its new one.
- What about my WooCommerce plugins?
- We list every plugin and agree what replaces it: a built-in Shopify feature, an app, or code in your theme. Many plugins aren't needed on Shopify at all.
- Will my store go offline?
- No. WooCommerce keeps selling until switch-over, which takes minutes. We plan it for your quietest time.
- How much does it cost?
- Small stores (up to 500 products) start from $1,500, and growing stores (up to 5,000) from $3,500. The fixed price depends on your products, customers and orders, and whether you keep your design or get a new one. You'll have it within one business day.
- Can I keep my domain and email?
- Yes. Your domain is pointed at Shopify at switch-over. Your email stays where it is, and we make sure it keeps working.
